Home Screening Programme
You can access chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening at a number of venues including pharmacies and youth services. The scheme is aimed at people 15 – 24 years old, but can be accessed by anyone who is not experiencing any symptoms of an STI but would like a peace of mind check. If you don’t know too much about the scheme then have a look at our Home screening page for more useful information.
We would reccomend testing once a year or more frequently if you have changed sexual partners. Further information can be found on our home screening page or if you are a Calderdale resident and would like to order a kit through the post (it won't cost you anything to access this) then you can go straight to our order page.
EHC scheme
Emergency Contraception in Pharmacies
Calderdale operates an Emergency Hormonal Contraception scheme at participating pharmacies which is aimed at females aged 13 – 25 years. In addition to this females over 25 and in receipt of income based benefits can also access this service. EHC provision is available through a consultation with the pharmacist to ensure the treatment is appropriate and where onward referral is required this can be done. Emergency contraception should not be used as a replacement for longer term and planned hormonal contraception so if you need to access ongoing forms of contraception please contact the service so we can discuss your needs.
