Sexual health is more than clinical aspects of preventing infection and contraception provision, and includes working to support people to have safe, healthy and pleasurable relationships. As a service we are proud to be able to support young poeple but often the biggest impact on sexual health in terms of supporting healthy relationships and what consent means in practice comes from a wide range of individuals. This includes first and foremost parents, but also teachers, youth workers, care workers and others who don't have a specialist sexual health role.
The service offers bespoke training for staff working with young people which aims to support workers, volunteers, carers etc to raise awareness of sexual health and equip themselves with the knowledge to have meaningful conversations with young people they work with.
Please contact the service on 01422 261370, email SexualHealthServices@cht.nhs.uk or drop us a line through our general enquiries form to find out more. Someone will then get back in touch to discuss your needs.
