Contraception information - Weight Loss Jabs
People are being warned that taking weight loss jabs can interfere with some contraceptive methods and increase the liklihood of unexpected pregnancy, with uncertainty over the effect of these medications on the baby.
If you are taking any weight loss medication then we would strongly advice you discuss this with your nurse or doctor to ensure you receive the right contraception method for you.

Pharmacy Contraceptive Service
The pharmacy contraceptive service has been in operation since late 2023 and means pharmacies can provide the contraceptive pill free to people who are;
- starting to take the contraceptive pill for the first time.
- taking the contraceptive pill again after a break from using it
If you have a prescription for the contraceptive pill then you can use this as normal. More information is available on the NHS Choices Website
